Scout

in that cave u can buy nice dagger, and do some training, but u have to kill some pirates first

Sorry my bad english sometimes...i'm not native..

Anyway, i,m having problems with close range because my mage is ranged oriented (destruction + marksman + sneak)... creatures with level 40 are hard for me now ( i'm level 31) if i can outrun them...so far i use hit&run tactic, or search for higher ground, but there are some bosses u just can't do that

Toni, never ever ever worry about your English. It is excellent, especially your grammar & you express yourself very clearly (using big words, at that! [Image Can Not Be Found]). Wish that I could speak another language….at all!…let alone as fluently as you write English.

Hmmm, there must be a way for pure mages to survive or else German forum posters would have complained loudly & that info would have trickled into the English forums.

Not that I know if any of these might work, but I could offer some suggestions.

1. Make poison potions & apply to arrows so damage over time in addition to arrow & spell damage. Or any DOT pot depending whether enemy is mage or melee or….

2. Equip a melee weapon even if you have no points & put DOT pot on. Not only fire, frost, but (it's too early, brain not working yet, can't think of names) pots that take away endurance, magicka…like that.

3. Use frost arrows or frost/shock staff to stun & slow enemy…does that even work like it should? Tool tips say frost arrows stun….

4. Chamelion? Does invisible break if you do combat? Are there high lvl spells for those?

5. Drink potions before starting combat like Scout does. I noticed my latest regen pots (I think this is right) heal 6 over 15 seconds….that's as long as a fight. Can't hurt to regen starting before you take damage. And keep swigging…does TAB pause combat & allow you to queue up potions? Maybe use that rather than hotkeys if only to pause for a breather.

6. Shield spells before combat...or (damn! I cannot think, didn't sleep at all so gave up at 5 am & here I am)....re-enforce (! what's the word?)....enhance your health potion before every fight.

Aren't there supposed to be traps? I haven't seen any yet, the tool tips mention them.

Yapette, thanks for praising my english[Image Can Not Be Found]

Thanks for tips too...I'm doing something similar with potions and shock/frost spells, but my problem is when there is no room to run (its rearly, i know, but happens somethimes).... I didn't invest much in blocking, blade etc... for magic shields i can use only low level spels, because i didn't invested much in  other than destruction.... but my lvl 5 fireball eats too much mana... sorry, magicka[Image Can Not Be Found]....

i found scrolls of invisibility, but i think u can buy invisibility spell when level 3, think in Monastery, but not sure...its no really use for me because my tactic is Sneak attack + arrow + 2 fireballs, so no mana left...If i manage to hit all 4, it usualy kill any boss

Problem is somethime in game (not gonna say when), u  r standing on a platform with  Skeleton King, or horde of trolls charging on u.. Terrible!!! they just push u over the edge...

Train ACROBATICS,...u'll need it latter...Or just  do Juming so u raise it.. think about 50 will do it (or keep artifacts that raise it)

i just killed  HELMUT  in some cave[Image Can Not Be Found]

I have decided to train acrobatics and raise agility as well as sneaking and security. I do a lot of jumping in my wandering and sneak through all dungeons, so they are slowly increasing. Just finished the pirates hideout and am heading eastward to see what I can find. I should probably head up to Cahbaet for the main quest soon. Anybody been up there? I am at level 18.

Where do I get repair hammers? I haven't seen any.

I passed Cahbaet on the way to the Mountain Monastery. You'll see what's up about that when you go there. After the main dude at the Monastery gave me a quest to go to parts west I decided to return to the central valley and level up some more as I was only around 10 or 11. I'm nudging level 19 right now. Am cleaning out caves around Castle Stonefield. Doing lots of jumping too. I wish there was climbing in this game. I really miss climbing after Gothic 2. I hate that you can go 9/10ths of the way up a hill and then can't go the last 15 feet. I know there are ways around some of these but still...

Like Toni says, smiths have them hammers. I am amazed at how cheap repair is in this game. I usually repair my own armor and weapons but mostly I've just been getting repairs from the smiths when I sell them loot. Still, it's handy to have repair when you are deep in the back country or in a cave and getting beat up.

Sneak is one of the things I've decided to forgo  though I will probably wish I had it later.

I was looking for something labeled repair hammers, but didn't see any. Is it hammers that I use? That is all the smithy had.

I will carefully check out the monastery area. Still on the east cost.

Edit….tried the hammers and they work.

Did the east coast down to the apple grove and the mine. Too much loot, so I headed back to town to unload. Walking through cleared territory, I thought I was safe, when I was hit from behind. I saw my health was nearly gone, so I ran, not knowing what was behind. Turned onto a main road and ran past a guy, thinking he would help. He turned and headed toward the creature and then suddenly he ran past me and up a hill. I had to laugh and turned around. It was a druid elemental, which I was able to handle.

I'm down in the bowels of Zerobilan Tower. Sort of a head scratcher at the start and then some very very cool ruins that go on and on with an assortment of puzzles, etc. It's a huge dungeon and I'm backtracking a lot to make sure I see everything. I thought I was winding down and just opened an whole new area. I'm calling it a night though.

I did stop by the Pirate cave finally and bought that cool dagger. Not sure if I'll ever need it but it's nice to have.

I went up high on the very west edge of the 1-7 level area to something called the Old Border Watch today. You can see all the way across the western half of Nehrim to the west coast and I saw the Treomar area where my next Main Quest quest is. This game reallly has some nice touches like that.

Can't help anyone with anything. [Image Can Not Be Found] I'm learning to ride my horse around "Stoneville" & jumping off rocks around "Lemur" Castle to increase acrobatics. Remembered I hadn't trained in forever, back when I couldn't decide whether (or not) to spend points in less than worthless @ <10 abilities (skills? I keep forgetting). I've got 36 LPs and still undecided.

Destruction is 71. [Image Can Not Be Found]

Sneak, athletics, acrobatics & the like are around 10. [Image Can Not Be Found]

Visited both pirate caves.

Toni, impressive sleuthing skills re: finding our Roots. I have only just gone through the previously locked door via Castle Ledur.

Onward! Slowly.....

There are two pirate caves? I visited the one on the north coast near Zerobilon. Is the other one somewhere near there? I know I wasn't able to buy anything in the one I visited.

I have destruction at 67 and security, sneak and acrobatics around 20.

Pokey, one is near pier near ship. Fight some pirates, in back a ship/buiding with 2 pirate merchants who don't seem to mind that you offed their mates.

The other cave has spider-monsters & you swim. [Image Can Not Be Found]

That pirate cave by the ship was funny.

"Hi! I just killed 6 of your pirate buddies and I need a beer!"

"Comin' right up, matie. Slaughter is thirsty work, init?"

Pokey, did you talk to the merchant in the back of the pirate bar? He has the dagger.

That was weird. I must have missed the merchant. Will drop by next time I'm out that way. Heading up to clear out the bandit cave up north and then back to Zerobilon now that I have the key.

Just finished Zeroblion. That was very fun. Glad I had that minimap mod installed.

Toni, did you find Martin Rabe's hut up on Death Pass? I remember that name from somewhere and actually wondered about it. I did read Story of Prisoner too and thought maybe there was going to be more story. I guess the judge in the one who sentenced the prisoner. I've seen a locked judge's door in Erothin but haven't tried to get in yet.  I've been over Death Pass and might  have found the Master Raven hut but don't remember now. I'll have to check next time I head that way.

I haven't been to the far north yet so I don't know what is up there.

I had to leave some unlocked metal caskets in Zerobilon so I'm out looking for open lock scrolls or something to up my Alteration to 25 so I can use the open  lock spell I bought in the Theives Den below the Backyard.

Judges house is near courtroom, right side..but there u can find only key for his safebox

for now its a dead end

Got update on Gervasius quest line..nexus halls...BUT QUEST IS NOT FINISHED, so we'llwait for patch...spent 2 hours looking fori it and then check sureai forums and ....[Image Can Not Be Found]

u can boost alteration with low level open lock if u costantly try to open harder lock.. its borrring bur what u gonna do? spend some hard earn points on alteration training? naah

Great suggestion about boosting alteration by failing lockpick spells. Made a list of my piss-pitiful skills & decided Alteration was one I'd improve (Reflection! Shield spells). Wonder if you could swim back & forth underwater and *not* die – would that increase alteration (water breathing governed by alteration)? Be even cheaper than using scrolls or spells.

OK guys, HELP! I am finally, finally at the ruin written about in the letter by the adventurer. So I clear out the back door, find the note about a key in a bucket and NO DAMN BUCKET! At least where I am between the back door & the locked gate. Is there a front door w/ a bucket? If so, I've wandered around outside beyond my patience & can't find it.

My athletics are better than I thought: 29. My acrobatics are 12. [Image Can Not Be Found] Sneak: 7 [Image Can Not Be Found]  [Image Can Not Be Found]

Pokey, the pirate merchant you missed is very dark, practically unseeable as he blends into his corner to left of door.
