Take allll the time in the world. Right click-> bash doesn't work on the heart?

After watching some endgame combat on YouTube, I don't want to play it. [Image Can Not Be Found] Probably can't as I'll be nose-to-the-floor dead most of the time.

If I get enough nerve tomorrow, I will start the Keep combat. Otherwise, I'll sit back & watch you advance to where I am.

Never mind!

duh. Who'd have thought to bash it like a chest/door? sheesh

I've reforged the sword. Just died at the hands of the 3rd shadow reaver... Made the mistake of plunging into the midst of the blade golems. Oopsie. I also think I'll keep using the destructificator until I have to use the silver sword. I like it's almost one-hit damage.

I think the issue with casting True Names was if something interrupted the spell - takes a long time to cast. For the first two reavers, I ended up pausing, taking control of Lizzy (lizard woman), moving her outside the sphere of the reaver's AoE spell and then took control of my main and aggro'd the hell out of the reaver to keep him busy. That works... until you come up against 4-5 blade golems with varying spells of their own.

I'm done for the night.

Two FYIs that I learned late & still don't use effectively in combat.

1. Silver Sword has abilities beyond bashing via rt. click, drop down menu. Must be equipped to use. Must be recharged to use again.

2. Remember the four statues that granted us abilities? At the time, we were told they worked well against the King of Shadows. Again, must be recharged with rest (I think). On my action bar but I can't remember which does what in combat - never mind what the whats are.

I stink at True Names & watch the icon top/center screen like a hawk while casting. Still can't tell if interrupted although I have noticed a bright beam going from caster skyward - during casting? following success? Glance at text/chat hoping for notation but haven't seen one. Makes me shudder to think of the Reavers in my future.

I'm pretty sure the skyward beam means success because after that is when the reaver falls - even when we've had him at near death the entire length of the battle he drops like a rock right after seeing the beam.

Thanks for the hints about the rt/click for the sword, by the time I'd reforged it I'd stopped listening to all Lizzy had to say and none of it made sense. I'd also forgotten about the abilities we'd gotten from the statues.

I'll see what I can do later today. First the more mundane things... like laundry and grocery shopping. [Image Can Not Be Found]

At the door jamb of the Final Boss Battle Room.

We just finished the room with Three Shadow Weavers!  [Image Can Not Be Found] [Image Can Not Be Found] [Image Can Not Be Found]

Almost hit ESC & gave up after Lizzy & Shorty D dead, I'm glued to the floor, leaving Qara & Ammon with all 3 weavers still un-named. W.T.F.

With nothing to lose, decided to let the AI take over. I'd try to cast True Names & Rez with a rod (you'll get one too), but mostly I sat back in wonder….and more WTF via Pause.

Through the door I will discover who swaps sides & betrays me…by my reckoning, no one is really my good buddy. I may reload & take those dirty rats' equipment. [Image Can Not Be Found] I may leave well enough alone & quit as the game is finished (for me) as soon as I see who stays with me.

Good Luck. [Image Can Not Be Found]

Took the bridges and survived the seige towers. Even managed to hold the courtyard by keeping everyone bottled up in the gate... and then that damn Garius showed up. Lizzy and Glowface showed up to help, but I think I had the wrong companions with me - Q and Caviar. I rez'd Q a couple of times but the shadow avatar laid waste to us all. Caviar held his own as did Q until Garius appeared, then she tangled with the avatar.

Effen Bishop. He'll rue the day.

I'm done. Not fun. At all.

Last room, last battle - everyone dead but me & the Rez Rod fell off my hotbar when I clicked (none in inventory). Decide I am NOT playing this mess a second time. King of Shadows #? won't die. What to do....what to do.....--> ~ DebugMode 1 dm_god

Whacking & whacking, realize I missed a statue so no wonder he won't die. Whacking, whacking. GameBanshee's WT running on notebook next to me: Ammon says destroy the Portal but Ammon's dead so I didn't know that. Whacking resumes until The End.

Thanks for starting this game, thanks for the company. I also have Mask of the Betrayer but not sure I want to play it now.

How funny we both came to the same conclusion at about the same time.

Just watched the ending on Youtube... yeah,  no. I'm done.

Attention devs: It's no fun when I get my butt handed to me time and again - did I mention the third reaver took me 6+ tries using that stupid gith sword? As soon as I switched back to the destructificator, reaver and golemy goons went down in less than 3 minutes. I may have Mask of the Betrayer in one of my many game bins, but  I. don't. care. I'm uninstalling this mess tonight.

'twas fun having the company! I think I'll play something less taxing... like a bad adventure. [Image Can Not Be Found]

You might want to check out Drakensang. I really enjoyed playing it, much more than Neverwinter Nights and the expansions.

Thanks for the suggestion, Pokey! I actually have Drakensang in my ginormous back-log.

Thanks Pokey, I too have Drakensang on the shelf. After micromanaging a party in NWN2, I'm seeking peace & solitude so a single party game will probably be next. Like Fallout 3 DLC & some mods. Maybe Alpha Protocol. Can't muster the will to learn either Assassin (I&2) using a 360 controller just yet. Otherwise, the games in my pile seem to be party-based (Mass Effect 1&2, DA:O + Awakenings, Drakensang).

How much inventory shuffling does Drakensang require? The worst I can recall is Dungeon Siege with a party up to eight….plus pack animals! [Image Can Not Be Found]

I thought the game was fairly simple to learn. I didn't have any party members for nearly all of the first section, then I picked up one to pick locks and a fighter to go to the city. Sometimes I was by myself and on some quests you can only have a certain member. Party management was easy. Most of them were left at a house in the city and you select who you want to accompany you. I don't remember any problems with inventory management.

Yap, with the exception of Mass Effect 2 we have the exact same set of games. This frightens me... or maybe it should frighten you? [Image Can Not Be Found]

I'll see your game pile and raise you Hard to Be A God. In a tin slip case!

Then, my trump card: Seal of Evil.

Can anyone tell I haven't a clue how to play cards, neither Poker nor Bridge?

Son #1 gifted me Seal of Evil (at my request) back when it cost $49. Wish we could co-play this one – its presence on the shelf instills instant guilt whenever I see it. [Image Can Not Be Found]

(or, or…Prince of Qin! But that was $10 so no guilt there. but, but is that strategy, not rpg? we two could fill a thread with the strategy/building games owned & not [yet] played. me way more than you.)

So much drama here. I love a violent game-quitting!

Rather excellently done, lasses. The next time I quit a game, I'm not going to stop there. I'm going to uninstall the sucker and then piss on it. Flaming, venomous piss. From hell. And with dogs that shoot bees from their mouths when they bark.

Truly inspiring.

Readers who quietly pursue Bollocks (such as yourself [Image Can Not Be Found]) will discover that many parallel plays are decidedly anti-macho.*  Recognition is given for wimpitude and humor.

Barkers spewing bees qualifies. [Image Can Not Be Found]

Armand, your link to the new NW links back to this page. [Image Can Not Be Found] But that's ok, I found the page here.

Now that I have your attention….

Which body & face & hair mods do you recommend for FO3 (to continue my thread-derailment)?

I had planned on using Fallout 3 Project Beauty and 85 Outfits ReColor. Probably 50er Nostalgie if it works with Outfits ReColor.

Can't decide on body or hair. Do I need any? Are there known incompatibilities between modified bodies & modified clothes? (I haven't studied that issue yet).

Most definitely Tailor Maid, so glad you mentioned this mod in an earlier thread.

Believe me xtal, if I'd had a working flamethrower, I'd have used it on NWN2... with extreme prejudice.

Or dogs pissing flaming bees from some orifice.

Hah hah, I have such a hard time remembering what forums I've posted on Yappette. Body and hair mods I use and recommend.

I
can't remember exactly, but I use the Type3 (I'm pretty sure that's
what
it's called, it's super popular so I'm sure you can find it) body
style, as I've found that's the one that has the most custom made
outfits. I honestly can't really tell the diff between most of the body
types, so I went with the one that seemed most compatible with other
mods. They have 5-6 different versions of Type3, including different
body shapes, and ones with and without undies. For male character's, I
use one called Breeze (I think,) which also has both undie and pretty
adult non-undie versions. It seems to be the most used male body. My
biggest problem with the in-game undies is that they all look the same,
and they look like someone bought them at the local Walmart a week ago.
Why would it all be so clean and new looking!!

For
hair I use "hair pack" which contains the same hairstyles that have
been modded into Oblivion and Dragons Age and I'm sure a ton of other
games. A lot of them are way too anime for my taste, but a few are great
regular use hairstyles for me. Male hair is limited, but male mods are
always dwarfed by all the female options.

Compatibility wise,
Type3 is needed for Tailor Maid I think. Like I said, it's the most used
body type for clothing. Project Beauty (if I recall) changes the looks
of most of the in game npcs, which is great for second or third (or
tenth) play throughs of the game, as it changes just enough to keep
things fresh. Beauty of course, is subjective, so it may not be for
everyone. And I think the modder even said it's not intended to make
npcs into super models, just more to his liking. Adding beauty to it
made it more "sell-able" in the saturated mod market.

Of course,
none of these mods are required, but I think they add a lot of
replayablity to the game. Use FOMM to install the body mods, cause they
are some of the harder mods to make work right. If you have DLCs like
the Pitt, you will need to get mod patches for the body mods, which are
usually included on the download pages.

Hope that's not TOO MUCH
info there, but if I can help more, let me know. And if I'm not
responding to something, chances are I forgot about the post, so feel
free to send me a message.
