I finished all the add-ons I have. I took the Explorer perk during the last level up and am now going around the map with Fawkes to check out the places I missed. Nothing earthshaking so far. Mostly the same building interior with mutants. I should return to Vault 101 and see if anything has changed. I might even look into a mod quest (omg…scout installes a mod). Fallout 3 is pretty fun to hang out in while I try to figure out what to play next. One thing I might look for is a mod to give Fawkes a few more lines of dialouge. Her endless looping five comments does wear on me. I was glad to have her during the final Steel battle though.
I am constantly amazed at the intricacies of this game. My Fawkes was male. I left him at the Museum of History early on because when he was with me my walking speed was slowed, and since I can't run, that was a problem. My son and I also found the same thing: his XXXX character might be female, while mine was male, and vice-versa.
Go ahead and install those mods, Scout. You'll find many new places and people, and quests, etc. once you do. One mod I have, The Mantis Imperative (fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=12296) , has a little bit of everything.

Damn, I think my Elder Lyons and the guy who I have to hand cameras into have gone walkabout...
Still armouring up the merchants and water caravan guys...
Lyons and Rothchild, as well as Tristan (he of the Mutant Blood Sample quest) can be almost anywhere on the Citadel property although they are most often in the A Ring Hall, or the conference room, or down in the Lab. Sometimes they can be sleeping, so check out all the beds. I've also had one or the other wandering outside, presumably watching the training exercises. I've seen Lyons in the infirmary and in the archives. Too bad your aren't on PC, then you could "go to" them.

I thought about cursing my PS3, then quickly remembered how much enjoyment it has brought me in such little time.
I'll just have to broaden my search for them, although I seem to run into Tristan an inordinate amount of times. And other people sleep in Lyons' bed, which I took as a bad omen.

I've looked everywhere, I think they're gone.
Sometimes I've noticed NPCs just running off into the distance, and wonder if these two have bolted on me. I hope no further expansions make use of them!
Incidentally, in my scrounging for armour to toughen up the caravan guys, I went back to the place where Liberty Prime was destroyed (and his head is still there).
Inside that satelite place, it looks like all of the Enclave had re-spawned! Happy days! I slaughtered them all, and have a plethora of Enclave armour. I gave the Rangers all some Tesla armour, but I think their shoulderpads are too big, and they're getting stuck. Oh, and a lot of Raider havens have re-populated too, so I got a heap more of their armour.
In my wanderings I finally stumbled across Dogmeat, which is pretty cool, and a Nuka Cola collector too.
Now, time to go back and visit my old vault, which I'm still yet to do.

Oh yes, there is much respawning. A great way to get whatever
equipment you love without paying for it. I love Outcast Power Armor. I
occasionally buy some from Crow or Bannon, or someone else. But I like
to find it in random encounters because I get the armor plus the
weapons, ammo, etc. that my attackers/victims carry. Here is a link to a
page listing all the random encounters, or most of them, anyway.
Sometimes who you find will change on each return trip, but sometimes
the same bunch of guys turns up again and again. I've collected so much
loot this way in the months I've been playing that I now have over
$450,000 caps. I use what I need and sell some of the rest, or trade it
for what I do need. I've got more caps than I'll ever be able to use,
and still have lockers and a filing cabinet filled with
sellable/tradeable loot.
Plus, if you have the Lawbringer perk you will get a finger with each
human enemy you kill. Then you can sell them to Sonora Cruz. Another
good source of money if you need it.

P.S. My previous post is blank because my links didn't show up at all. Hmmpphh!
Jarrod: no matter how I try to include them, my links don't seem to be showing up in my posts, although they are visible in the "compose" window. I will PM you and see if they are visible that way.
"…you just keep on trying 'til you run out of cake."
Trying a different method. Let's see if this works.
Edit: Nope. I am unable to include any kind of link using any of the options available. Or is it that while the links aren't visible to me, they are to others? No clue. I give up.

Thanks Spike - my first PM here on Tap - woohoo!
I couldn't get back into Vault 101 without a password - so quickly looked up the Fallout Wiki which told me that to get in you need to listen to the radio message - which I forgot a had. So, after listening to the message, I entered the Vault and found there was a whole new quest there for me to complete - joy!
I talked to a few people, felt out the situation, and resolved it without bloodshed - well, except for Wilkins, who was a jerk. My reward for helping them - a low level suit and banishment! Damnit, I wanted to be able to visit and trade with them whenever I wanted. But still, was a nice touch to be able to go back and visit and quest again!
Now I'm not too sure what I'll do - just explore a little, I guess.

Spike I see links.
How weird is that? I told Steerpike that I'd attempt to place a link in a post that I could see from Windows, instead of Mac. I thought maybe WordPress didn't like Mac OS. But I still can't see my links from earlier, so, from here in Windows I shall try again. If it doesn't work I'll give up.
Jarrod: if you could see the earlier links, know that this time I'm just testing.

Update: I dragged the favicon into the compose message window, and then cut/pasted the address from the address bar. Neither of those allow me to see the link in the finished post (although I can see them in the compose window). I'll stop worrying about it now. Thanks, all.

I see your links Spike. Have you considered "embedding" them in a phrase or a word instead of cajoling it to display the link in its entirety?

Toger, I've tried several different ways, and none of them work...not in the forum, and not in PMs. I can embed a link in a homepage blog post, but that's all. Steerpike is on the case, but I told him not to worry about it too much. I've noticed that I too can sometimes see links in other's posts, but sometimes as Jarrod and Finkbug say above, I can't. It's gotta be gremlins.
Next time I'll try your phrase/word method and see if that works. Maybe it's something inherent in Wordpress. Or gremlins. I like the thought of gremlins.

I just finished Point Lookout. I think I've done every quest and seen about every location on the map though I may go back later and make sure I didn't miss anything. Quite a bit of fun, though the creatures in outskirts were tough to bring down. I started Broken Steel but am having trouble finding Scribe Jameson in order to return something. I did find Scribe Rothschild and have my orders. The citadel is hard to navigate and I will be glad to get out of there. Good to have Fawks back.
Later, I did find Jameson, but had to change the time before she would appear. There was a battle in a tunnel out west and poor Liberty Prime was destroyed again. Back to the Citadel with the report and then back to salvage the enclave armor. I hear there is a puppy perk in Broken Steel. I hope I can replace Dogmeat, who died in a earlier battle.
Jarrod said:
yeah, I think anytime Dog Meat dies, you just go back to Vault 101 to pick up the replacement puppy.
Can Liberty Prime be repaired from its first destruction?
Jarrod, in the interest of not spoiling the game for anyone who hasn't played yet, here's a bit of info. Just highlight it.
Liberty Prime will stay in pieces for the rest of the game, even if it takes you 5 years of hanging out in the Wasteland. Sad. I've gathered several hundred cameras and sensor modules hoping that Rothchild would finally get the thing fixed. Ain't happening.
