It's an Aperture Sciences Weighted Companion Cube Pub & Eatery!

Can't wait until they open one of these in my town.

As you can imagine, the other portal is across the street (near Yonge Street and Bloor in Toronto).  First link is to the photographer's site.  It has a couple of other photos of the portals.  The second link is to a page with yet another photo in this series.

Would portal guns be allowed in the Silo?  Or will that be a no-weapons zone?  Just askin'.

Crap.  What's with the non-active links?

The first link is obvious:  bladediary.com     Then "Your favorites", then use  "find" to search for "cube".

The second came through Google Images.  I simply searched for "portal cube".  It was amazing just how many images there were.

That kind of hilariously inspired shit is what makes life worth living. If I were walking down the street and just saw a companion cube half-wedged into a portal I really don't know what my reaction would be. I might stand and stare, or laugh, or cry a little that I didn't think to do it first.

Too bad the date on the blog says February 2008, as surely it's gone now. Those portals are only about a 25 minute walk from where I live. Oh well!

This reminds me of the groups of wonderful (unrelated to one another) people who erected Monoliths in random locations, I believe in Denver and Seattle, on New Year's Day in 2001 and again in 2010, respectively. 2001 is one of my absolute favourite films and seeing images of these nerdy homages brought a Cheshire grin to my face. This can now also apply to Portal.

Portal guns fit into the cooking accessory category and may be found in the 'pastrís chocolat and lemongrass liqueuer' wing, according to the manifests.

It is not widely advertised. It was feared that the sheer volume of cross silo portal links from the pastry wing to the subsonic massage and sexual tension release subwing would rip the fabric of space itself and Steerpike was most insistent that this should not occur. Don't blame the messenger.

Are you insane? Who the hell needs subsonic massages or sexual tension release when there's chocolate pastries?!!

Oh wait, I forgot who-all is in this silo. Never mind. [Image Can Not Be Found][Image Can Not Be Found]

Look, I said the silo was gonna be a great place to live, but you all were, like, "eww, silo, radiation, rats, mold." If I'd told you about the Sexual Tension Release Wing there'd have been a flood of applicants to live there.
