It's got a bit of Spider in it, but the control system is different and suffers on the iPhone because your finger's in the way much of the time. iPad might work better.
Beyond that it's... how to describe... a bit of an explorer/adventure game, and a bit of a resource management game, and a bit of a puzzle game. It had a lot of promise but my overall reaction is that the writing is stilted to the point of caricature and the lazy use of stock photography makes it difficult to develop a feel for the characters. I'm pretty disappointed.
Heavy Rain was fascinating. I've loaned it to a friend but I will go through and play again, once I complete Valkyria Chronicles (returned to after a 2.5 year delay!). Like Gregg I consider my single, first playthrough the "canon" version of the story for me, but I'd love to see how other things might have gone. Flaws in the game? Definitely. But they managed to make QTEs almost organic and to me there's more to like than dislike. I'm eager to see what Quantic Dream manages next.
