Rewatched God Told Me To tonight. It's…not good.

However, the complete crazy of it toward the end (as well as its so very 70-ness and a young Andy Kaufman as a cop) always has me coming back.

Hermarodite aliens are God. Or something. If you figure this out in the first half hour you've won the Nobel for Intuiting Craziness

What are yours? Not camp, not so-bad-it's-good. The ones that stick in your head but you can't in good conscience recommend for any reason beyond oddness?

Oh yeah. Mine is Brick. It's got the long-haired kid from Third Rock From the Sun doing a bad Dashiell Hammet goes to high school rip with a made up street lingo dialogue, the guaranteed worst "based-upon" story I have ever let my eyeballs gaze at, and a convoluted-on-purpose plot that disintegrates into nonsense. I've watched it four times now. It's not camp or so-bad-it's-good. It's just oddly fascinating to me and I have no idea why.

I watched Of Gods and Men over the weekend and despite the film sincerely depicting the monks and their modest monastical lives, I couldn't relate to the resolution of the grave decision that the monks had to make. To me it was selfish and nonsensical yet the film never attempted to address this. It seemed foolishly content with their actions, unquestioning and too one sided for my tastes. I'm not even sure whether this film fits into your category Fink but it made me a little fidgety.

Edit: Scout, I think me and Hai have Brick on our film list. There's a great little heist film out there called The Lookout starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt (from Third Rock From The Sun) that I highly recommend checking out.

Having just finished Metropia I'm reduced to a gooey puddle of befuddle juice. Has anyone else seen it? I need to chew it out with someone. Good? Bad? Odd? (All three.)

Certainly nothing else like it. Fritz Lang + CGI puppets + giant anime eyes + Juliette Lewis + dandruff shampoo as the Big Evil. By Scandinavians.

Fits this thread well. Strange movie.

I NetFlicked it today over lunch. Only saw the first 45 minutes but was pretty engaged. What is troubling you about it? Dandruff bad. Hero good.

I watched the whole thing last night Finkbug. So chew away. Personally I thought it was quite good in that all the characters met my expectations without disappointing me. The little uncanny valley puppets were neat to watch.
