Hi gang! How is everyone? Sorry it has been, I don't know how many years, since I chatted with you guys, but for some reason I've been thinking about y'all and Tap lately, so I thought I'd stop by. One of the reasons I stopped coming by, sadly, is the lack of time I've had for computer games - so I'm not playing anything much, other than a bit of Borderlands Pre-Sequel every now and again.

But that said, I'd be happy to catch up and find out what you're all doing, and share what I've been up to if anyone is interested! So, what have you been up to? How are things going???

Incidentally, I have a friend who plays L4D2 - do you guys/gals still play it anymore?

Hey Jarrod, it's been aaaaages!

I'm well thanks, not much of a difference for me. I got a new job a few years ago which is infinitely less stressful than my previous one. Still graphic design but in the public sector rather than private, so it's a lot more structured, there are a lot more friendly faces and the wages/job perks are much better. Other than that though, just the usual cycle of games, movies, music and other stuff outside work.

I see you've been busy with your model business -- you post some really impressive stuff on FB!

I don't play so much L4D2 any more but it's never off the table because it's still a great game with friends.

Jarrod! It's always great to see a familiar face around here. You mentioned a little of what you've been doing when we chatted on Steam, and I doubt I'm the only one who wants to hear more details. Spill!

Hey, good to hear from you guys!!

Thanks greggles!!  The model business... well, it's a lot more of a hobby, haha, hasn't really taken off. I've been playing a lot with CAD software, which is where the models come from - I mostly like to do robot head/helmets for custom 1:6th scale figures, then I get them 3D printed, and painted by folks I know.  Now I'm starting to move away from the 3D stuff, and trying to teach myself to sketch, which is *really* hard!

As for what else I'm doing, I'm still working my day job (sort of a jack-of-many trades for a tv broadcaster, but mostly working on the news). And I've been doing a bit of writing. I don't know if you guys know of Ed Greenwood of D&D and Forgotten Realms fame? Not content with releasing some 30+ books over the years, he's started his own publishing company to help others get published - called The Ed Greenwood Group. The idea is that each yeah, for pretty much the next ten years, he'll be releasing a new setting or two - each setting different, that will have a bunch of books in them, and will be ongoing. I've pitched two book ideas, which have been picked up... so I've written one book for TEGG, and I'm into the second draft of the other novel I pitched.  I'm waiting to hear feedback on the first book, to see what I need to change etc... but it is an exciting time. There's a whole bunch of people involved in TEGG, and the chance to write alongside Ed and a gourmet platter of other former D&D novel writers et al  was just too good to pass up.

I'm also doing a wee bit of photography, again, just for fun - specialising mostly in toys/robots/80s stuff. https://www.instagram.com/wednesdaytoys/ is my link if anyone is interested.. And hey, if you guys have Instagram accounts, let me know and I'll throw a follow your way 😀

That's most of the big stuff in a nutshell!  Better head off, hope to jump on again soon and catch up a little more fully 😀
