In this week’s episode of Side by Side we take a look at Toys For Bob’s Playstation Archon-like The Unholy War. Yeah, Toys For Bob, the folks behind Star Control and… Skylanders.
My brother and I used to play The Unholy War a lot. It felt like a local multiplayer game made from some Saturday morning cartoon and a bunch of toys from the adverts. Mechanically it had brains and it had brawn though.
Little did we know however, that this particular brand of turn-based strategy and real-time tactical combat was to all but fizzle out after this game. It’s one of the last houses down a dead-end street unfortunately, which is a shame because it was a proper fun house.

As always, a huge thanks to Joel Goodwin for his continued efforts putting these videos together.

Gregg, speaking of Star Control, have you heard there is a spiritual successor to Star Control 2 in the works?!?
I have yes! 🙂
