The wait is over! You can now, at long last, refresh the Side by Side tab you’ve had open since the end of season 1 to see that season 2 is upon us! Bigger, better, harder, faster… uh, stronger? Actually, while season 2 won’t necessarily be bigger, we hope it’ll be better. Harder? No. Faster? No. Snappier? I didn’t say that, but yes. Sexier? Now now, don’t push it.
The two of us learnt a lot after season 1 and if you didn’t catch Joel’s video covering some of the things we hope to improve and address then check it out.
With that in mind, our first episode takes a look at Witch Beam’s Assault Android Cactus which comes out of Early Access today. Like, it’s out now. You can view the video below or directly on YouTube.
In this episode:
- Chain addiction
- “We weren’t really co-operating… and we weren’t really competing either. We were just co-existing.”
- We <3 Starch
- Cactus thumb
If you enjoyed this then please consider subscribing to our Side by Side YouTube channel or sharing it. If you didn’t catch season 1 then that can be viewed right here.
As usual, a big thanks to Joel Goodwin of Electron Dance for all the hardwork putting this together.

I love Side by Side. There, I said it.
And it’s not just because I know and love Gregg and Joel — they’re horrible people, completely unlikable, there’s nothing to love there — it’s the idea behind the thing. First off, the joy of local multiplayer. It’s unappreciated in this day of Xbox Lives and Steams and all, but my most fun times have been local. And it’s surprisingly fun to watch, as well, so Side by Side has everything.
Except Olivia Thirlby. Wouldn’t kill you two to throw a little star power in there.
