Starfeld: Not Starfield

Beautiful, gripping and powerful. These are all words you wouldn’t associate with Stephen ‘increpare’ Lavelle’s Starfeld, a strange, miniaturised space oddity. I played this a few weeks ago and had a good giggle but after all the talk of RPGs, freedom and linearity here recently it seems only fitting that I throw this one out there now. You Mass Effect players may appreciate the satire here more than I did. I just appreciated the line “I am a fully accredited yoga guru”.

“He called out your name last night while we were having sex. You should join us some time.”

As Captain, I felt truly loved.

“Your dog was of an extremely rare and delicious breed.”

I never made it to the Vortex mothership… darned space debris.

Seriously, did anyone pass that part? I must have tried it 25 times before I said whatever humour lies ahead is not worth this torment.

Up until then it was a spot-on riffing of Mass Effect 2 :D

Hehe, you chose the ‘evil’ options didn’t you? It’s really hard that way, I managed it after god knows how many attempts. Try sticking to the top or bottom of the screen so there’s less dodging involved and try destroying any asteroids in your path using every shot you fire, even if you have to move your ship right over to the right!
