Shack and others are reporting on what may or may not be revered designer Warren Spector’s next effort, codenamed Epic Mickey. Since Spector’s Junction Point studio was acquired by Disney, everyone sort of assumed he’d be making a mouse-themed game (assumed, but hoped it wasn’t true), and now it’s semi-official. According to Shack, the game will be Wii-only, and tells the story of obsolete Disney characters seeking to destroy Mickey Mouse.
I’m not sure about this new direction Spector is taking, but hey, he rarely fails us. Still not buying a Wii, though.
I’m totally digging the Steampunk + Disney artwork. And I’m not snobby about playing on a Wii. 😀
I’m not snobby about the Wii, either. Just picked up Wii Sports Resort with the snazzy new Wii MotionPlus. Better than ever. 😀
I had bought my Wii so I can play Zeldas and Marios, so being able to play new WS’s game on it is an unexpected bonus, whatever it is. And if it turns out to be a good game featuring classic Disney characters in an unusual setting, well, that’s YET another unexpected bonus. I mean, I was telling my wife the other day that I am excited about this game because I spent a lot of my childhood fantasising about Disney characters coming to life and taking me to some adventures in the real world. This is almost it!!!
